Dr Celia Cotton - Private GP

Celia graduated from Cambridge University in 2005 before qualifying in Newcastle. She gained extensive experience working in London, Gloucestershire, and abroad in Borneo, Australia, and Switzerland, before settling down in Cheltenham with her husband and 2 children (although she misses the Swiss cowbells).

Celia is a highly skilled General Practitioner whose work has been published by the Journal of Family Health Care, the British Society of Immunology, and most recently by the British Menopause Society. She is qualified to offer independent specialist menopause care and has also undertaken post graduate training in dermatology, weight management, and teaches on musculoskeletal and perinatal health.

She joined Linbury in order to provide the comprehensive and personalized care that every person deserves.

Outside of work, Celia has been teaching yoga for the last 15 years and loves inspiring people to improve their wellbeing. As well as spending time with her two children, she enjoys running in muddy hills and competing in off-road events.

Dr Geena Spicer - Private GP

Geena trained at Charing Cross & Westminster (now Imperial) Medical School in London, graduating with an MBBS & an intercalated BSc in Anatomy. Having completed her GP training (also in London) & becoming a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners, she went on to gain a diploma in Family Planning and has a Postgraduate Diploma in Diabetes and Endocrinology. She has a broad experience of working as a GP in the NHS, private and corporate sectors & is particularly interested in cardiovascular disease management, diabetes, Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome, obesity, metabolic syndrome, eating disorders, asthma and viral-induced wheeze. Geena has worked extensively as a clinician and in management, in the Urgent and Emergency Care arm of general practice, with over 15 years of experience in this field and still actively works in the Emergency Department. She has also, until recently, spent many years working as a GP appraiser for NHS England and enjoys supporting and mentoring colleague development.

She describes herself as a “traditional village GP”. Her love of general practice and emergency care is a result of the diversity and unexpected nature of the work; there is always something new to learn, another avenue to explore, another adventure to embark on. No matter how many years pass, her motto is, “the day you stop learning, should be the day you hang up your stethoscope”. It is a vocation, a joy and a great privilege to serve as a GP; to develop a trusting relationship with your patient and to share in their journey. The Linbury ethos gives her ability to provide that bespoke, premium-quality service that every patient deserves.

Geena lives in the North Cotswolds with her husband, daughter and their Bearded Collie. When time allows, she enjoys playing chess, skiing, cooking and catching up with friends and family. Most importantly, she is also Head of Arts and Crafts in the Spicer household; school projects are a serious affair. It’s amazing what you can create with some bamboo skewers, wooden beads and hot glue!

Dr Nikki Burger - Private GP

Nikki was born and qualified in Cape Town, South Africa, where she graduated from UCT with First Class Honours in 1998.

After working in SA for 2 years, Nikki came to the UK to experience a different healthcare system and broaden her horizons. She worked in London Hospitals (Barts and the Royal London) for 3 years doing A&E, Adult Medicine, Paediatrics, and Obstetrics & Gynaecology before moving to Worcestershire to become a GP in 2005.

During her time in London, I attained Membership of the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (MRCPCH) and Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP).Nikki also sat the Diploma of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (DRCOG), for which she was awarded the Gold Medal Prize as the top candidate.

Nikki joined a very busy NHS GP Partnership in 2007 and took the Senior Partner role for 7 years, whilst concurrently being Clinical Director for Worcester City Primary Care Network (10 GP practices in Worcester) for 4 years developing a host of new patient services during this time.

Nikki made the decision to move to Linbury Doctors in order to have more time with patients, truly getting to know them and their families. Nikki’s values are aligned with Linbury Doctors with a passion for excellent access and continuity being central to high-quality, personalised health care. Nikki enjoys every aspect of general practice, especially that every day brings something new.

When not at work, she enjoys family time spending time, travelling together, and building family memories whether on an active adventure or chilling beach and book vibes. Nikki enjoys keeping fit by cycling and going to the gym.

Dr Angela Coyle – Private GP

Dr Angela Coyle is an experienced GP with a background in surgical training and interests in paediatrics and rheumatology.

Dr Angela qualified from the University of Glasgow in 2008. She also completed her foundation training and a Junior Research Fellowship in Burns and Plastic Surgery at the highly regarded Canniesburn Unit. She moved to the North East to train in Trauma and Orthopaedics until life brought her to the midlands in 2013. While working at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham, she decided to pursue a career in General Practice to retain a broader range of clinical skills and work closely with the community. She completed her GP training in Warwickshire and was awarded the RCGP Certificate of Achievement for her exam performance in 2017.

Dr Angela was attracted to becoming a Private GP as it allows her to spend time with people they need, ultimately delivering a high level of patient care by building relationships and offering the continuity of a traditional ‘family doctor’.

In her spare time, Angela is normally found chasing around after her two young children and two dogs and enjoys reading when she gets a chance!

Dr Claire Holder – Private GP

Dr Claire completed a first-class degree in Biological Sciences at The University Of Birmingham before pursuing a career in pharmaceutical sales covering the main London Hospitals. However, her passion for medicine and science lead to the completion of a graduate entry medical degree at the University Of Warwick. Early years working at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham and then completing GP training in Worcestershire has given her strong links to the local community in both primary and secondary care.

The ability to provide continuity of care for patients and a holistic management plan is what attracted Claire to work at Linbury where these values can be upheld to provide a high level of patient care. Claire’s special interests include; joint injections, women’s health and HRT, dermatology and palliative care.

In her spare time, Claire is a self-confessed ‘fitness fanatic’; she is on the competitors’ programme at her local gym and enjoys Olympic weight lifting as well as cardiovascular fitness, competing at a local level in Crossfit competitions and more recently at Hyrox as a solo athlete and same-sex as well as mixed-sex pairs competitions. To balance this, Claire also has a keen interest in yoga, especially hot yoga, but also enjoys Yin yoga for a slower pace.

Dr Hala Atkin – Medical Director

Hala was born in the United Arab Emirates and moved to the UK to start her medical school training at St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London Hospitals.

Hala has extensive private practice experience. She has a wealth of experience working in different general practice settings. She’s passionate about delivering a personal and premium service to her patients, supporting generations of families. Hala is always extending her knowledge by developing areas of specialist interest and has completed further diplomas in mental health, obstetrics and gynaecology (particularly the menopause), children’s health and dermatology.

Hala lives with her husband and three children who keep her on her toes. She is a keen runner and has completed a number of marathons, New York being the next one she has her eye on!

Dr Clare Wyld – Private GP

After leaving school in Scotland, Dr Clare undertook a degree at Liverpool University in Genetics before returning to Glasgow to study Medicine, qualifying in 2007. After completing her foundation training, she moved to London to train as a GP. She lived and worked in Southwest London for five years before making the move to the Cotswolds. Clare was a partner at a busy city NHS practice in Oxford before deciding to join Linbury. She made the decision to move to private healthcare because she was keen to be able to give patients more time, offer better continuity of care, and build lasting rapports.

Dr Clare has a keen interest in Lifestyle Medicine and completed a diploma in Nutritional Therapy in 2017. She also has a keen interest in women’s health and has a post-graduate diploma in Family Planning and has recently completed further training in Menopause.

In her spare time, Clare enjoys yoga, running, gardening and walking her mad spaniel in the countryside with her husband and two young children.

Mr Kuljit Gill – GP Clinical Pharmacist

Kuljit has worked in a number of pharmacy sectors with extensive experience in helping patients get the most out of their medications. He graduated in pharmacy in 2012 and since 2017 he has worked as a GP clinical pharmacist prescriber for a number of GP practices and for NHS111 out-of-hours service.

Kuljit has extensive experience in managing patients with both long-term conditions and minor ailments, pain management and mental health. He has also trained GP trainees in medicines management and safe prescribing.

He is passionate about ensuring patients’ medication is safe, appropriate and effective to reach the desired health outcome for the individual patient. Kuljit makes sure that patients can manage their medication and have a good understanding of why they are taking it. He also provides support on how to reduce potential side effects from medication.

Kuljit’s passions are going to the gym, travelling and watching sports. He also enjoys taking part in sports when time allows – or when he is not looking after his two teenage sons!

Dr Lisa Dawson – Private GP

Lisa was raised in Kent and went to study medicine at University of Liverpool Medical School where she qualified as a doctor with First Class Honours in 2010.

She gained extensive experience in both inner city and rural hospitals
before deciding to pursue her passion for community and family medicine. Lisa relocated to embark on her GP training and very quickly fell in love with the Cotswolds. She has made this her home and now lives here with her husband and four children.

Lisa enjoys the holistic care that general practice enables her to give to her patients and this was one of the features that drew her to Linbury. Lisa feels being someone’s doctor is a privilege and that her patients deserve the time and space they need to explore all their concerns. At Linbury, she has found that she is able to provide this level of care to all of her patients; alongside this
comes the continuity of care that she feels is so important.

Lisa enjoys all areas of medicine and relishes the breadth of knowledge that
general practice requires of a doctor. She does have a particular interest in
paediatrics, women’s health and end-of-life care.

Dr David Buckley – Private GP

David qualified from the Royal Free Hospital, London in 1984. He completed further training in London and Oxford in cardiology, gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynaecology, ENT and A&E, then finally his GP training in Abingdon, Oxford.

He became a partner in a practice in Stratford-upon-Avon in 1989 where he has been for the last 33 years. During his time there he was GP Tutor and a GP trainer. He also became an upper gastro-intestinal endoscopist, working at both Warwick and Evesham Hospitals, and this work continues.
He has a particular interest in cardiology, gastroenterology, dermatology, minor surgery/joint injections, and end-of-life care. He is also involved in research, having participated in several national trials in cardiovascular medicine and gastroenterology, and currently, a project looking at atrial fibrillation in primary care.

Having decided to step down as senior Partner and leave the practice, he is looking for a more rewarding way of delivering primary care and was attracted by the ethos of Linbury doctors. Outside of work David’s passions are skiing, travel, music, theatre and reading. He loves most sports and tries to find time to attend the gym regularly. He has 2 grown-up children and hopes to get a better work/life balance now so he can enjoy more time with his family.

Dr Ferdi Daley-Morris – Private GP

Ferdi qualified from Warwick Medical School in 2012 after completing a Biomedical Science degree in Cardiff. He’s since worked in a wide range of practices throughout Wiltshire and Gloucestershire as well as the 111 Urgent Care Team. With a long-standing interest in biomechanics, anatomy and sports, Ferdi has nurtured this into a specialist interest by completing additional training in joint injection techniques and attaining a post-graduate diploma in Sports and Exercise Medicine. He has also been heavily involved in education and training throughout his career; he has co-founded award-winning educational projects and has regularly taught and supervised medical students and trainee GPs.

Ferdi was initially attracted to General Practice by the clinical variety of the job and the enjoyment of building rapport and lasting relationships with patients. The desire to provide optimal care and continuity led to his transition into private healthcare, having identified Linbury as a company where these are both fundamental foundations. In his spare time, Ferdi greatly enjoys music and plays the trumpet. He enjoys golf, travel, gardening and, as an avid sports fan, follows as much rugby and motorsport as being a father to his young daughter allows!

Dr Liam Linney – Private GP

Liam gained extensive experience managing emergencies in the hospital but also in the community quickly becoming a real all-rounder. Liam particularly enjoyed the community aspect of his job prompting the decision to move to General Practice. During this time he developed an interest in private medicine having heard about the different approach taken by the Linbury Doctors.

Liam was drawn to the Linbury doctors due to the bespoke nature of their work; centred around continuity, small list size and their availability to their patients. He has a particular interest in dermatology, minor surgery, children’s health and sports/exercise medicine.

In his spare time, Liam likes to watch his home town team – Huddersfield, attempt to play football but also plays himself. Liam is proud to captain his local team for the past few years and really enjoys this special role within his local community.

Liam has a young family and enjoys looking after his son Jack (as well as two cats Max & Paddy). When he is not playing football he likes to keep fit by riding his bike and going to the gym.

Dr Lucy Ansell – Medical Director

Lucy qualified from Nottingham Medical School with First Class Honours in 2006 and spent her house officer years and GP training around Cheltenham and Gloucester. She was an NHS partner at a practice in Cirencester before making the change to become purely private in 2016.

Working within all aspects of general practice, Lucy has post-graduate diplomas in Obstetrics, Gynaecology and Family Planning. She has also undertaken specialist training in perimenopause and menopause medicine and has strong links with local and London consultants.

With a passion for continuity and availability, Lucy makes sure her patients get as much of her time as they need while keeping them up-to-date with the latest advances in medicine. Lucy has strong links with both private GPs and specialists in London as well as locally, and is very experienced in managing families who have more than one residence. She has a wealth of experience in managing large households and their staff.
