What’s Included in a Private Health Check?

What is a Health Check?

Having a Private Health Check will assess your risk of potential health issues, as well as spot any warning signs that you may not have noticed yourself. Your dedicated Private GP will come to your home to carry out the assessment, where you can also discuss any current concerns you may have.

What’s included in a Health Check?

A Well Woman or a Well Man private Health Check will be tailored to your needs. It generally includes a full set of blood tests, which even includes testing your vitamin levels such as Vitamin D and B12, as well as your Iron and cholesterol levels.

We’ll check for diabetes, as well as the health of your kidneys and liver. An ECG will be carried out if we felt it was necessary, or if you wanted it for peace of mind. Your blood pressure will be checked, as well as your BMI, which takes into account your height, weight and family history. For a man, we’ll check your prostate count and for a woman, we’ll check your CA 125 which is a cancer marker for Ovarian Cancer.

Based on all of the information we collect, we will calculate the risk of you getting heart disease in the next 10 years.

The importance of these checks isn’t just to have a one-off check. We recommend having it done 6-monthly or annually by the same doctor. This is because we look for trends and changes in your health.

Will I have access to my Results?

All of your test results will be shared with you via a secure system which is password protected. So, you will always have access to all the tests you have with us. A copy of your report will also be emailed to you after your health check.

Why should I have a Private Health Check?

Whilst our Private Health Checks don’t stop you from developing health issues, they can identify where you may have a higher risk. This means that you can then make informed decisions and we can advise you on how to lower that risk. As we recommend having regular check-ups, you will be able to see trends and changes in your health, so you can be in full control and live with peace of mind.
